Yoga Teacher Training
Yoga teacher training opens you up to a whole new world of possibilities. Just imagine being able to share your passion and commitment with other aspiring individuals like you.
We offer face to face courses in Cranbrook/Kimberley British Columbia, Calgary Alberta & Mazatlan Mexico. Our yoga courses are set up over evenings and weekends and are usually 16 days total.
You can also ask us about our online distance yoga instructor course if that is a better fit for your lifestyle.
We also offer retreats and training in beautiful Mazatlan Mexico!
What Our Training Offers
Our yoga teacher training is intended for students who want to deepen their practice and aspiring teachers who are looking for the tools needed to teach intelligently and confidently. East Kootenay Yoga Academy’s content-rich program certifies students to teach alignment-focused and philosophically-inspired Hatha/Vinyasa classes. That includes the principles of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and restorative yoga. You’ll also learn about the therapeutic benefits of yoga asana and pranayama.
Whether you choose to train with us in one of our Canadian destinations or Mazatlan, you can be assured of intimate training settings with dedicated and supportive teachers. You’ll receive personal guidance every step of the way to help you successfully complete your program. And it doesn’t end there. We’ll offer you continued support as you embark on your new journey.
We’re also one of the certified Yoga Alliance schools so you can be sure that you’re receiving high-quality, credible training.

About
East Kootenay Yoga Academy was the product of many many hours of determination by its creator and founder Sue Inshaw.
Sue is a ERYT500 (Experienced 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher), RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher), Fitness Instructor Specialist, and Restore your Core RYC Instructor. She has owned a hot yoga studio and enjoys bringing yoga into the lives of others.
On a personal note, she loves being outdoors, embracing nature, walking with her dogs, and traveling.
Sue has been teaching yoga since 2004 and is excited to share her passion with other students on their journey into teaching.
In February 2019 she had major abdominal surgery and is now exploring healing and core strengthening style of yoga.

Teacher Training
We are a Yoga Alliance certified school and we offer RYT 200 training programs.
You begin your journey with module one. This is where you awaken your inner yogi and explore new teachings. You’ll learn about the theory and history of yoga, develop breathing and cleansing techniques, and deepen your practice. And of course you’ll have fun and make new friends the entire time.
You’ll complete your yoga instructor training in module two. We’ll build you into a first-class yoga teacher by helping you continue to deepen your practice and further your yogic growth.
